Patricia "Pat" Rosemary Hutchinson

Mar 17, 1934 – Dec 5, 2013

Racine- Patricia R. (nee: Bakke) Hutchinson, age 79, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Thursday, December 5, 2013 after suffering a stroke.

A St. Patrick’s Day baby, Pat was born in Milwaukee on March 17, 1934 to the late Arvid and Katherine Bakke. On February 20, 1954 in Crown Point, Indiana – Pat was united in marriage with the love of her life, Ernest V. “Ernie” Hutchinson, Jr.

In May of 1969, Pat & Ernie purchased Larsen Bakery – a true Racine tradition for multiple generations in which their daughter and son still carry on today. When they were not tending to the bakery, Ernie & Pat enjoyed spending time at their home on Green Lake. With a profound Christian faith, Pat often attended St. Lucy Catholic Church. Years ago, Pat like to ice skate, bowl, fish, bow hunt, dance with Ernie and was a fantastic cook – never using a recipe to create her specialties. In recent years, Pat loved trying her luck on the slots at local establishments & Potawatomi; solving crossword puzzles; and keeping up with the times through Facebook. Above all, Pat was extremely proud of all of her family and always looked forward to being the surroundings of her loved ones.

Surviving are her daughter Debra (Kai) Jerdee; son, Donald Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Barb (John) Scola; grandchildren, Cara and Craig Jerdee; Nicholas (Sara) Hutchinson, Stacey (Joel) Verbeten, Kaitelin and Jenna Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Amaya Jerdee and Declan Verbeten; father-in-law, Austin Standiford; brothers, Eugene (Joan) Bakke and Harvey Bakke; brother-in-law, Neil (Kathy) Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Linda (John) Mini; nieces, nephews, other relatives, bakery customers and friends – including her extended family at “Dickey’s”.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernie, on December 17, 2004; her adored son, Daniel Hutchinson, who tragically died in a bicycle accident on February 22, 2004 (a part of Pat died at the time of Danny’s passing); brothers, Rudy and Melvin Bakke; niece, Sandy Hutchinson; mother-in-law, Georgianna Standiford; father-in-law, Ernest Hutchinson, Sr.; and by her and Ernie’s canine companion, “Yukon”.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 6:00 pm with Rev. John Fleming officiating. A reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Private inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery Garden Crypts.

A heartfelt note of thanks to Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints ICU – especially Emily, Debbie & Leah – for the compassionate care in Pat’s time of need; and to the devoted owner (Tom Durgom), employees & customers at “Dickey’s” for everything you all have done for Mom over the years. May God bless all of you!

Testimonials

December 22, 2016

Thank you so much for your staff’s gentle, patient, and thorough management of my nephew’s memorial service yesterday. It was run to perfection, and we couldn’t be more pleased. From the beautiful slide show transitions to the quality audio system to the easels, pedestals and Kringle…all details were impeccable and appreciated.
