Patrick Dennis O'Connor

Jan 26, 1961 – Apr 17, 2008

Racine- Patrick D. O’Connor, 47, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 17, 2008 following a valiant six-month battle with cancer. A lifetime resident, Patrick was born in Racine on January 26, 1961 to Leonard B. and Lois J. (nee: Joslin) O’Connor. He received his education from Knapp, Starbuck and Park High School. Patrick was employed by A & E Hand Tools for nearly 10 years. He had a tremendous appreciation for the great outdoors. Patrick was an avid fisherman and enjoyed tent camping. Above all, he loved and cherished being in the surroundings of his entire family. Surviving are his mother, Lois O’Connor; sister, Jacqueline O’Connor; brothers, Robert (Debra) O’Connor, Richard (Leann) O’Connor and Daniel (Rene) O’Connor; beloved nieces and nephews, Staci, Jennifer, Joseph, John Henry, Samuel and Megan O’Connor; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Leonard “Red” O’Connor; and grandparents, Oren and Eileen Joslin; and Leonard J. and Emily O’Connor. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 11 am. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 pm and on Tuesday from 10-11 am. In memory of Patrick, memorials to Hospice Alliance has been suggested. A heartfelt note of thanks to the entire staff of Hospice Alliance, especially to nurse Sue B. and Chaplain Charlie; and to Dr. Michael P. Mullane and staff for the compassionate care and support that was so warmly extended during Patrick’s bout with cancer. God bless all of you!

My parents told me of your kindness, generosity, and servitude when we lost my brother. They needed that strength and your light came through. Thank you.
