Rebecca S. Rangel

Feb 22, 1925 – May 20, 2007

Racine – Rebecca S. Rangel, 82, died at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital-All Saints on Sunday, May 20, 2007. She was born in Cotulla, TX on February 22, 1925, the daughter of the late Jesus and Delsina (nee: Perez) Saldivar. On July 19, 1953, she married Theodore S. Rangel Jr. in St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She had been employed by St. Luke’s Hospital and later retired from Westview Nursing Home. Mrs. Rangel was a member of Cristo Rey Parish. She enjoyed sewing, collecting antiques and dolls. Her loves included being a happy homemaker and caring for her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Theodore Rangel Jr.; their children, Jane (Carlos) Ruiz of Kenosha, Theodore (Kim) Rangel III of Racine, Norma (Ramon) Flores of San Juan, TX, Irma Ramos and Robert Rangel both of Racine; 8 grandchildren, including, Tony, Lupe and Denny whom they helped raise; 12 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Armando Navarro of Racine, Gavina Saldivar and Jesse Rangel of Kenosha. Her nieces, nephews, cousin other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and 4 sisters. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 in Cristo Rey Parish, 8th St. and College Ave.. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday, May 25th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and in the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the nurses on the 2nd Floor at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital-All Saints and the East Dialysis Unit for the care and support.
