Rev. Jimmie Beandrew Lockridge

Rev. Jimmie BA. Lockridge, age 63, entered into the joy of his eternal reward with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2013.  Jimmie was born in Tupelo, MS on January 28, 1950 to the late Eddie Lee and Bernice (nee: Wells) Lockridge. 

He accepted the lord at an early age and became an active member of the youth choir at Red Hill Baptist Church in Red Hill, MS.  Jimmie was a man of many talents. He had strong work ethics, he retired from J. I. Case Company after more than thirty years of employment.  He was a member of the J. I. Case Thirty Year Club and served as a member and then completed training on June 9, 1983 to become a Chaplain of his local U.A. W. (United Automobile Workers) Union.  Rev. Lockridge enjoyed doing yard work, watching sports, bowling, talking, singing, playing the lead guitar with his wife Claretha by his side playing the bass guitar (She volunteered to learn how to play when he lost his bass player and Jimmie taught her how to play) but more than anything he loved to preach God’s Word.  He faithfully served as a member and a minister of the Gospel at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop L.L. Kirby.  Jimmie received his certification of License to preach on February 13, 1983 and he was ordained as a minister on August 18, 1985.  In 1991 Lord charged Rev. Lockridge with the awesome task of founding and pastoring the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.  Through his dedicated work in the ministry, he was able to connect with many people and help them deal with sometimes very difficult situations.  The title of pastor was not something that he took lightly, he would get in and do whatever needed to be done for the kingdom of God and His people. He was a very humble man. 

  Left to cherish precious memories of Jimmie are his loving wife; Clareatha (nee: Bruce) Lockridge, daughters; Martha Johnson, Kiera Lockridge, Sherlin Scott, Stephanie Roberts and Latisher Williams, Grandchildren; Starletta, Tawann Jr., Khalayah,  Raven, Arianna, Unitee, Madelyn, Danee and Jada, brothers; Eddie Roy Lockridge, Murl and Earl Monroe, sisters; Elizabeth Lewis, Tonya Parker and Betty Lockridge, aunt; Ruth Baylie, brothers-in-law; Thomas (Josephine) Bruce and William Bruce, sisters-in-law; Mattie Barry, Frankie (Leon) Thompson, Alice Gladney and Helen Jackson. He is also survived by a host of other family members, friends, foster sons, congregants, associates and brothers in the ministry worldwide.

Rev. Lockridge was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; Betty (nee: Hale) Lockridge, daughter; Tallana (nee: Lockridge) Keene and sisters; Ruth Earl and Kathereen Lockridge.

Rev. Lockridge had an outgoing personality an a genuine love for people, he deeply loved his family and he treasured every moments spent with them. He was playful, had a great sense of humor, was generous and kind hearted.  Beloved by so many for his big heart, quick wit, musical talents and deep, well-studied presentations of the Word of God. Rev. Jimmie BA. Lockridge will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
