Richard "Dick" Edward Conner

Racine- Richard “Dick” Edward Conner, age 83, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Becker-Shoop Center. He was born in Racine, WI, one of three children to the late Harvey “Pat” and Emma (nee Miller) Conner.

Richard served his country with the Air National Guard and was called to duty with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Richard married the love of his life Patricia (nee Granger) on August 31, 1957.

Richard worked for AT&T for over 30 years and retired in 1985. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Richard was an avid golfer and longtime member of both the Johnson Park and Ive’s Grove Men’s Golf Clubs.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; their sons,  Casey (Cheryl) Conner, Patrick (Pam) Conner, all of Racine; Michael (Jane) Conner of Sussex, WI; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew, Britt, Shane, Sarah and Hailey Conner; brother, Wendell (Shirlie) Conner of Racine; and cousin, Betty (Robert) Hanson. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wayne Conner and son, James Conner.

His memorial service, with military honors, will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday  from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Mass. The family has suggested memorials to the Becker-Shoop Center.

The family would like to thank the staffs of the Becker-Shoop Center and Hospice Alliance for their warm and loving care shown to Richard and his family during his time of illness.
