Richard "Dickie" Otto Storheim

Apr 23, 1928 – Mar 13, 2006

Racine- Richard Otto Storheim, 77, passed away peacefully at All Saints-St. Mary’s Medical Center on Monday evening, March 13, 2006. A lifetime resident, he was born in Racine on April 23, 1928 to the late Oluf and Magrethe (nee: Qualheim) Storheim. On October 11, 1952 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lorraine June Kammien, who preceded him in death on November 12, 1998. Dickie proudly served our Country with the United States Army artillery in the Korean War. Along with Lorraine, Dickie owned and operated Dickie’s Bar on Durand Avenue since 1976. They cherished the many friendships established with customers throughout the years. Operating the bar was not only his business, but his favorite hobby, as Dickie loved to socialize. He was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church and lifetime member of the VFW Post 1391. Above all, Dickie was happiest when in the surroundings of his entire family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are his children, William (Jeanne) Storheim, Richard Storheim, both of Racine; and Susan (Pat Brockway) Storheim of Gays Mills, WI; grandchildren, Scott (Kristen) Storheim, Steven Berby Sr., Kimberly Storheim, and Robert Storheim; great-grandchildren, Anthony Berby, Steven Berby Jr., Hailey Storheim, Olivia Berby, Christopher Richard Berby, and Conner Storheim; sister, Anna Johnson of Worth, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his extended family at the bar. In addition to his parents and wife, Dickie was preceded in death by brothers, Norleif and Christopher Storheim; sisters, Hilda (Karl) Pinnow and Nellie Storheim; and by his in-law’s, Oscar and Ethel (nee: Chicnofsky) Kammien. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Pam Kerschner officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 10 am – 12 noon. A special note of thanks to Dr. “H”, Dr. James Gierahn, and Dr. Steven Johnson; and to all the staff at All Saints-St. Mary’s 2C and 2D for the loving care and support that was so warmly extended to our Dad and to our family. Your many acts of kindness will always be remembered!

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

After the passing of our loved one, the time came to make the arrangements for his funeral and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more kind and caring as Mark was. He picked up on all the little details and things we held close to our hearts and made the celebration of this wonderful man’s life very special. Even playing taps along with the honor guard, Mark we can’t thank you enough…our heartfelt thanks go out to you and the staff.
Sincerely, THE GENE GRABHER FAMILY

Linda
