Roger Dean Hauge

Racine- Roger Dean Hauge, 63, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Roger was born in Howard, S.D. on January 31, 1946 to the late George and Agnes (nee: Dale) Hauge. While attending University of South Dakota, he met the love of his life, Jeanette L. (nee: Jepsen). They were married on September 23, 1967 at the Danish Lutheran Church in Gayville, S.D. before moving to Racine. Shortly after, Roger was drafted into the United States Army to serve his Country in the Vietnam War. During his career, he was employed with Case, Rexnord, Frederick’s Mfg. and NMB Insurance. Roger was a member of Belleview Lutheran Church in Howard and Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Racine. He was also a member of the Jaycee’s and VFW. Roger was an avid fisherman and was happiest while in the surroundings of his family and friends. Surviving are his loving wife, Jeanette; daughter, Angie (Ronnie) Bowen; son, Todd Hauge; granddaughters, Breana, Savannah and Hailey Bowen; sister, Ardis (Eldon) Sneesby; brother, George (Sharon) Hauge; mother-in-law, Darlene Jepsen; sisters-in-law, Diane (Luvern) Sorensen, Joan (Ron) Hout and Cheryl Peterson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Merle Hauge. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:00 am in Gethsemane Ev. Lutheran Church, 3319 Washington Ave, with Rev. Crystal Steinberg officiating. Military honors will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 4-6 pm and in the church on Monday from 10-11 am. Interment will take place at Belleview Cemetery in Howard, South Dakota on Wednesday. A heartfelt note of thanks to those who looked after, watched over or helped Roger in any way during the past few years. He truly loved all of you for your dedication and support.
