Rose Sunde Neels, 82, died at Hospice House in Kenosha on Tuesday, March 20, 2007. She was born in Racine on July 26, 1924, the daughter of the late Vincent and Helen (nee: Klimaszewski) Leskowicz. On February 2, 1952, here in Racine, she was united in marriage to Udall “Udie” Neels who preceded her in death on March 6, 2006. Rose was a longtime employee of J.I. Case Co. and later, employed by Hansche School. She was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic, where she was Treasurer of the Rosary Society. Most recently she was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, baking, and was an expert gardener. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Natalie Sunde of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Scott Sunde of Arlington, Texas, Stephanie Rose Sunde of San Antonio, Texas; sisters and brother, Pearl (Walter) Mynar of North Hills, California, Florence Neibaur, Chester (Helen) Leskowicz all of Racine and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., on Saturday, March 24th, at 10:00 a.m. for her Funeral Mass, with Rev. Jeffrey M. Thielen officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to either Hospice Alliance or the Oncology Alliance Philanthropy Fund. Rose’s family would like to thank her many friends, neighbors and caregivers who helped her in countless ways as she valiantly fought colon cancer.

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

The funeral service was just beautiful and very warming to everyone including my family. All the pictures they did and the employees were just fantastic. This is one funeral home I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to feel comfortable and to be treated like family. I can’t say enough good things because it was just such a warm welcome. Thank you to Mark and Mike. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.

Jim Ferdon
