Service Details

A celebration of Rosie’s life and homegoing will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, 11:00am, at Greater Mt. Eagle Missionary Baptist Church, 929 State Street, with Rev. Keith T. Evans officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Racine- Rosie Anna King, 98 passed away peacefully at Ascension All Saints on Tuesday evening on October 3, 2017.

Rosie was born in Clay County, Mississippi on March 10, 1919 to the late Frank and Mary Spraggins. She accepted Christ at a young age. In July of 1949 she was united in marriage to Laaron King.

In 1969 she and Laaron relocated to Racine, Wisconsin. In the late 1970’s she became a faithful member of Greater Mount Eagle Missionary Baptist church as well as serving on the Mother’s Board until her health began to decline.  During her working years she was employed as a Housekeeper for Lincoln Lutheran.

Rosie touched many lives and had an infectious smile and laugh. She enjoyed cooking, watching the news and Family feud. Rosie was a friend to many and would go out of her way to help others and family was the main cornerstone of her life.

Rosie leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, John E. Patterson; grandchildren, Lee (Dollie) Patterson of Detroit Michigan, Timothy (Trina) Patterson of Woodbury, Minnesota, Kim Patterson of St. Paul, Minnesota, Jessica Bell of Racine, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren, Danyell Hollimon, Phillip D. Henley, Lee Patterson Jr.(Sarah), Christian Patterson, Brittany Patterson, Destiny Patterson, Donovan Patterson, Trenton Patterson, J’Niah Bell and a  host of family members and friends.

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Laaron King, her daughter, Beulah B. Thompson, son-in law  Charles Thompson, grandson, Darnell Henley, great grandson Dwane Henley, four sisters, Ida Doss, Idella Lewis, Mattie Morris and Viola Gladney and three brothers, Jesse Spraggins, Booker T. Spraggins and L.T Spraggins.

The family of Rosie King would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your many acts of kindness shown during this difficult time. It is our prayer that the Lord will continue to bless each of you.
