Racine – Ruth E. Mainland, 88, received the promise of eternal life on December 2, 2016. She was born in Racine on January 30, 1928, daughter of the late Benjamin Theodore and Hazel Viola (Née: Nelson) Miller, Sr.

Ruth was a member of Racine Bible Church. She was a talented artist. She enjoyed painting, music, photography, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and doll making. With loving care, she crafted many treasures for her family and friends.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Thomas Lee (Josephine) Mainland of Racine, Michael Lee (Nora) Mainland of Valencia, CA, Mark William (Peggy) Mainland of Caledonia, Karen Lee Mainland of Racine; four grandchildren, Aubrey, Kevin, Shannon, Casey; three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kylie, Madeline; sister, Lois Bailey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, William Albert Mainland; and brother, Benjamin Miller, Jr.

A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016, 12:30pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. Visitation will be from 11:30am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to Samaritan’s Purse (samaritanspurse.org).

The family would like to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to the staff in the ICU at Aurora Health Care – Kenosha as well as the staff at Aurora Home Hospice for the love and care given to Ruth and her family during this difficult time.
