
Formerly of Racine Mrs. Weibel, 97, passed away in Riverview Manor, Wisconsin Rapids, on Sunday, January 29, 2006. She was born in Racine on March 28, 1908, the daughter of the late William and Anna (nee: Olk) Miller. Mrs. Weibel was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. She had been employed as an executive secretary for the Racine Chamber of Commerce, S.C. Johnson and the J.I. Case Co. On November 28, 1935, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Rudolph B. Weibel, who preceded her in death on June 28, 1982. While living in Racine, she was a longtime member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. After moving to Wisconsin Rapids, to be near her daughter and son-in-law, she joined St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. She loved playing Bridge, going out to dinner, and being with her family. Surviving are her children, Mary Clare (Jerome) Betker of Rome, WI, Ann Charity (Allan) Thellefson of Libertyville, IL, Rudolph William (Suzanne) Weibel of Claremont, CA, grandchildren Jay (Judy) Betker of Blair, WI, Lisa (Brent) Engen of Appleton, WI., Mark Betker of Racine, Paula (Brent) Smith of Lake Zurich, IL, Sarah Thellefson of Hanesville, IL, Katie (Dr. Brent) Kelley of Hayward, WI, Andy (Jodie) Weibel of Blacklick, OH, Louis (Angie) Weibel of Kenmore, WA; 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers William and Franklin Miller and by her sister Pauline Hegeman. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 2nd, at 11:00 a.m., in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., Racine, with Rev. William Dietzler officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and in the Church on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family has suggested memorials to either St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Vincent De Paul Church, or to St. Catherine’s High School.
