Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated at two very special organizations close to our family’s hearts. The Zilber Family Hospice- 1155 N. Honey Creek Parkway, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin 53213 and A Child’s Haven- 20 Martin Drive, Greenville, SC 29617.

Sally A. Martin earned her angel wings on October 1, 2018 after a 5 month battle with cancer.

She was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on October 27, 1949 and graduated from Milton Union High School in 1967. Sally worked in retail for over 40 years in Wisconsin,   Oklahoma, Texas and South Carolina. Sally was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kimberly Newell, and she adored her son-in-law, Dannie Newell.

Sally was known for her free, adventurous spirit, unconditional love, fierce loyalty to her family and friends and her sarcastic sense of humor. After 40 years of living away, Sally came full circle, returning to her home state of Wisconsin for this final chapter. In her last few months, she demonstrated a tremendous inner strength. Despite enduring the ravages of this horrible disease, she continued to be more concerned about those she was leaving behind. This was a difficult journey, which she endured with strength, grace and love.

Sally is survived by her biggest fans, her daughter, Kimberly Newell, and son-in-law Dannie Newell of Simpsonville. SC, her seven siblings – Joy Rankin, Shirley Walker,  Patricia Anderson (Robert), Lawrence Mould (Linda), Robert Mould (Kelly), Ruth Meyer (Dale) and David Mould (Tammy), her uncle Richard Wendorf (Carolyn) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Her niece, Michelle Gale, was like a second daughter and she loved her so much. Last, but not least, Sally will be missed by her grand pets, Holly, Gabby and Hallie, whom she gave “people food” to when we weren’t looking.

Sally met many loved ones in Heaven, including her parents, Douglas and Arlene Mould, her beloved nephew, Nicholas Gilbertson and her sweet baby niece, Asher Lynn Bethke. The family wishes to thank the truly amazing staff at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice who helped make Sally’s passing incredibly dignified and peaceful.

Sally….you will be sorely missed. You were my best friend through thick and thin, and will miss having your shoulder to lean on. Loved your silliness and sarcasm….and loved you for you. Happy that you are now at peace. It is with tears that i say good bye.

    Kim, Dannie and family

Sally was a wonderful light in my life if only for a short time. Her laughter and joking spirit will never be forgotten by me. Oh what fun we would have when she came into the office taking silly pics and sending them to Kim and I always adored her stories of the past she lovingly shared about you Kim.

Kim, being an only child myself and losing my dad way too soon by this evil thing called cancer , I want you to know she will never ever actually be gone. She is in your soul and will forever remain within you. All of the great times and laughter you shared will never fade.

Not goodbye but until we meet again Miss Sally………

    With sincere condolences and love,

    Vickie Benson
