Shirley M. Loken, 76, died at her son’s residence on Wednesday, February 28, 2007. She was born in Racine on December 31, 1930, the daughter of the late Albert and Martha (nee: Mueller) Lindmeyer. The Wisconsin Natural Gas Company had employed her until her retirement. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma and a former member of Resurrection Lutheran Church here in Racine. Mrs. Loken sang in the church choir, was a member of the church board, and the Quilters Guild. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cross-stitching, knitting and was skilled at many different crafts. Above everything else she loved her family. Surviving are her children, Jeffrey (Dawn) Loken, Erik (Nancy) Loken, Steven (Vicky) Loken all of Racine, Karen (Bill) Moore of Wilmington, NC; her grandchildren, David and Craig Loken, Jerrod (Dana) Quinn, Brandon Quinn, Tim, Kelsey, Melissa Loken, Chris (Shann) Uran, Rachael, Samantha and Thomas Moore; great grandchildren, Marley and Sienna Uran and Baylee Quinn; her sister, Louise Lindmeyer of Wild Rose, WI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband Thomas, her sisters and brothers, Luella Clausen, Margaret Crawford, Ted Lindmeyer, Cliff Lindmeyer and Wally Lindmeyer preceded her in death. Her funeral service will be held in the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 322 Ohio St., on Monday, March 5th, at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Melvin Miritz officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and in the church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m.. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to either Lutheran Church of the Resurrection or Hope Lutheran Church.

Testimonials

November 14, 2018

I’d like to thank Brian Langendorf and staff for putting on a great memorial and celebration of life service for my mom. We received great feedback from our family and friends. My dad was especially appreciative on how it went and was very happy with the result. Thank you!!

Thomas M. Christian Jr.
