El Paso, TX (formerly of Racine, WI) – SPC Ryan Jerome Lockridge, Jr., age 21, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, while serving our country at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

Ryan was born in Racine, WI on August 25, 2003 to Ryan Jerome Lockridge and Angel Nicole Hawkins. He was a 2021 graduate of Washington Park High School. Ryan enlisted in the US Army in April 2023 – going through boot camp at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Following, he was stationed at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas before going to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, where he was training to be a combat medic. He was enthusiastic about his military career and was proud to serve his country as a United States Army soldier.

Ryan touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, curiosity and gregarious outgoing nature. He had a radiant smile that would light up any room. Ryan was goal orientated and ambitious. He excelled in academics which resulted in numerous honors and achievement awards. He possessed a brilliant mind, disarming wit, and empathetic heart.  Ryan had the uncanny ability to connect with just about anyone. Ryan was an amazing person with a unique, kind soul and his loss will forever leave an empty hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. To know Ryan was to love him.

Ryan was passionate for competitive boxing and spending time with family. He was musically inclined – playing the cello, trumpet, and percussion.  He also gained a love for sports, which included traveling football and baseball teams throughout his teenage years. He always gave his all in everything he did. Ryan lived an active, healthy lifestyle who could often be found training at the gym. He always strived to make his mom and family proud. Ryan’s goals in life were to be successful, both financially and with a career – to take care of his mom & sisters, and to start a family of his own one day.

Forever broken by his loss are his mom, Angel Hawkins; sisters, Nikayla Lockridge, Jasmin Jones and Aria Honeycutt; grandparents, Eddie Roy Lockridge, Ethel Lockridge, John Hawkins, Sr. and Diane Hawkins Frye; niece, Auri’l Lockridge; numerous aunts & uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends spanning all across the United States– too numerous to mention all by name. Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Ryan Jerome Lockridge, who passed away on July 17, 2005 and by their family canine member of 14 years, Layla, who Ryan loved very much.

Services celebrating Ryan’s life, including military honors, will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 12:00 noon with Deacon Dale Nees officiating. A memorial reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday, Sept.6th, from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon. All family and friends are encouraged to wear red to the service in honor of Ryan’s favorite color.
