Steven Marvin Roslansky

Jul 26, 1962 – Jun 2, 2008

Slinger – Steven M. Roslansky, 45, formerly of Racine passed away unexpectedly at the Hartford Medical Center on Monday, June 2, 2008. He was born in Racine on July 26, 1962. Shortly after graduating from Case High school in 1980, he relocated to Milwaukee. He had been residing in Slinger since 1996.

Steven worked in Milwaukee for the US Postal Service from 1990 until the time of his death. He was one of those rare people who everyone liked. His sense of humor was unique, and he loved playing practical jokes. Steve enjoyed traveling the world, and especially to Hawaii and on cruise ships. He also liked to spend his time quietly with music, his friends and family, and his cats and dogs.

He is survived by his father, Marvin Roslansky of Apache Junction, Arizona; sisters, JoAnn (Rocky) Rockwell, and Rebecca (Kevin) Stellman of Wisconsin Rapids; brothers, Dennis Roslansky of Benton Kentucky, and Ronald Davidson of Racine; his dear companion, Randy “Tom” Pleugers of Slinger; as well as his nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida (nee: Petersen) Roslansky; and his sister, Barbara Peterson.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 4pm on Saturday, June 7, 2008 with Rev. Holly Anderle officiating. Visitation will be from 2pm-4pm.

Memorials to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072 Pittsfield, MA 01202 have been suggested.

My wish is that each of you find a love like Steve and I had for each other. And the joy he brought into my life. I will always be a better person for having had him in my life. And will always try to live my life with the lessons he gave me by the way he lived his. Brite stars sometimes burn out quickly.

    JoAnn and Family:
Please know that we are all grieving with you. Some of us differently and some of us know exactly where you are at.
Prayer becomes a wonderful resource to draw on when living through our painful moments.
And prayer gives us the willingness to accept God’s solution for every problem that plagues us.

This is the one of the toughest days you will have to face_.
However we will all be with you to celebrate our friend Steve!

    Karen

Your are so right about Steve’s sense of humor. I have had the pleasure of working with him since 2006. God Bless him and the entire family.

I have so many good memories of Steve. When I think of him, I always smile. I am so blessed to have him touch my life. I know that heaven is a much more joyful place now that Grandma, Mom and Steve are spending eternity together. Steve always found the joy and laughter in all that life brings our way. I want to carry that with me. He will be missed. My family’s love goes out to all who love him.

God bless our Steve! His contagious laughter still rings in my ear as he blurts out the name “KRIKAU!” Steve, I knew you best in high school, and your charming personality will make me smile always! Rest in peace, my friend.

It is August 15 and today I received a call from a fellow worker from the Post Office informing of Steve’s death. I am totally stunned and saddened by this news. I worked with Steve in Maintenance at the Post Office. He was one of my favorites to work with. He worked so hard and diligently. Always had a joke or was pulling jokes with me and I always fell for them. His laugh and smile were wonderful. I am truly sorry I did not know that he was ill – I would have driven the distance to visit him and try to share moments with him and tell him again how I enjoyed him. I didn’t keep in touch with him-I didn’t get to say good-bye & now I weep with sadness for that.
No one will probably read this now, but I just wanted to say good-bye to a very sweet fellow and my sympathy to his family and partner. I am so glad there was a picture of him to print out – Thank you.
