
Mrs. James 90, died in St. Mary’s Medical Center, on Sunday, April 2, 2006, She was born in Dagget, MI, on April 27, 1915, the daughter of the late Emil and Adline (nee: Zimmerman) Sawall. On July 21, 1937, in Detroit, MI, she was united in marriage to Arthur James. She was a longtime waitress in the Racine Area, serving at several well known restaurants; including the Hobnob, the Danish Gardens, and the Corner House. Mrs. James was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church and the Washington Park Golferettes. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing and dancing. Her family was the center of her life. Surviving are her devoted husband of nearly 69 years, Arthur; their children, Susan Koran of Sun Prairie, WI, John (Cyndi) James of Racine; 5 grandchildren, James (Michelle) Koran, Steve (Melissa) Koran, Tracie James. Michael James, and Donald James; 5 great grandchildren; her sister, Arlyn Bonine of Racine; and by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Karmand, Glen, Howard and Charles Sawall. Her Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 5th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Warren D. Williams officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Service. Private entombment will take place in the Garden Crypts of Graceland Cemetery.
