Racine – Virginia Mae Musil, 83, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Friday, May 12, 2017. She was born in Racine on September 19, 1933, daughter of the late Alfred and Della (nee: Wade) Heckel.

Virginia was united in marriage to her first and only love, Raymond Charles Musil, on June 20, 1953. Raymond preceded her in death on May 4, 1992.

Virginia worked in the City Clerk’s office for the City of Racine for many years until her retirement. She loved meeting with her friends at ladies’ club on Wednesdays. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and gardening. Above all, she loved her family tremendously and always doted on her grandchildren.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Charles (Paula Washow) Musil, David (Karen) Musil, Steven Musil, Brenda (Craig) Baumstark; grandchildren, Luke Musil, Ross Musil, Ray Baumstark, Shane Baumstark; sister, Peggy Mickelsen; sister-in-law, Vicky Heckel; many in-laws, other relatives, and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia is preceded in death by her son, Ray “Dickie” Musil; brothers, Dick (Audrey) Heckel, Donald Heckel; brothers-in-law, Wayne Mickelsen, and Bill Jensen.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017, 6:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, Racine. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will take place on Friday, May 19, 2017, 10:00am, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to the staff at Hospice Alliance as well as the staff at Ascension – All Saints for the care given to Virginia during this difficult time.

Testimonials

May 24, 2018

I can’t express my gratitude enough to Mike and the Draeger-Langendorf staff for such great service provided to us, as we made arrangements to lay our brother to rest. You all went above and beyond to make sure we understood every detail there was to know, from the greatest to the smallest. When we walked out of your office, we walked out with peace, knowing that our brother was in good hands. Thank you Mike for adding that special touch to my brother’s service, that’s the kind of stuff that separates you all from the rest. Once again Thank you so much.

Valerie McLain
