Werner "Sandy" Sander

Aug 17, 1926 – Sep 26, 2008

Racine – Werner “Sandy” Sander, 82, passed away at All Saints Hospital on Friday, September 26, 2008. He was born in Neunkirchen, Germany on August 17, 1926, son of the late Albert and Martha (nee: Schneider) Sander. Sandy was raised in Kenosha where he attended Bradford High School. Most of his adult life he had lived in Racine. On September 12, 1953 he was married in St. Edward’s Catholic Church to Joyce Kathryn Brehm. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2008. Sandy served in the US Navy during WWII. Sandy began working at the Nash Motor Car Company, and retired from AMC/Chrysler. He enjoyed sports of all kinds as a player and coach for his son, Paul. He was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and is now enjoying the “best seat in the house”. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sue Sander; granddaughter, Julie Sander; brothers-in-law Jack (Jean) Brehm, and Charles (Jeanne) Brehm; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, including Marilyn Houdek. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, October 3, 2008 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with Rev. Richard J. Molter officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5-7 pm, and on Friday morning at the church beginning at 9 am until time of service. Memorials to St. Edward’s Catholic Church have been suggested.
