Service Details

A memorial visitation for Bill will be held at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 9000 Washington Avenue (Hwy. 20), Racine on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM, to be followed by his memorial service and graveside inurnment.

William Harold Dargin, Jr., age 75, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

William, also known as Bill, was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Racine to William and Gladys (nee: Zimmerman) Dargin, Sr. He was a proud graduate of J.I. Case High School and a member of the first graduating class in 1968. Bill played baseball and football during his high school years and took great pride in representing Case. His dream was to play professional baseball. He was drafted into the United States Air Force on December 30, 1968 and received an Honorable Discharge on December 7, 1972. Until his last day, Bill was a proud Veteran of serving his country. His employment years were spent as a welder in the boiler manufacturing industry. Among his interests, Bill was an avid fisherman; loved spending time socializing with friends and family, especially when he was invited to a BBQ; was an enthusiastic and loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, never missing a game;  was a dedicated animal lover supporting many shelters and animal support organizations; used his CPR Certification in action as he saved a young man from drowning; and he was a devoted advocate POW and MIA.

Surviving are his children, William Harold Dargin III and Brittney Robyn Dargin; granddaughter, Gracie May Wright; and Heidi Gehrke, Bill’s soulmate for the past 28 years; sisters, Colleen Wittig, Pat (Phil) Gilbertson, Kim (Jeff) Galipeau, Bonnie Christensen and Debby Spaulding; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William, Sr. and Gladys; brothers-in-law, Chuck Wittig, Marty Christensen and Jeff Spaulding.
