Julie's Personal Touch

William “Pat” Heideman, 81, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Froedtert South – St. Catherine’s Campus.  He was born in Oak Park, IL, on July 24, 1939, son of the late Harold and Margaret (Née: Mayer) Heideman.

Pat was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Rochelle Lee Young, on February 14, 1976.

Pat proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper and a cook. He was stationed in Germany 1958-1959 and loved telling stories of how he cooked for Elvis.  Prior to his retirement, he was a proud union Construction Superintendent and enjoyed traveling frequently for his job.  In his younger years, he was involved in his family’s restaurant, Heide-Ho Truck Stop in Indiana, which is also where he gained his love of cooking. He was a grill master, but will also be remembered for his biscuits and gravy. That secret recipe has been passed down to his daughter Valerie.

Pat was an athletic man in his youth.  He was an excellent bowler and loved football. In his free time, Pat enjoyed fishing, even though he rarely caught anything. His most faithful fishing partner was his daughter Kimberly, and they spent many summers on Castle Rock Lake, searching for “the big one that got away” (and also a few anchors).

Pat is survived by his wife Rochelle Heideman; son Patrick Heideman, daughters, Valerie (Josh) Nielsen, Kimberly (Emad) Jrabaa; grandson, Amir Jrabaa; sister-in-law, Jackie Hylton Durbin; half-sister, June Oleferchik; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to his parents, Pat is preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Heideman and brother, Harold Heideman.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, 4:00pm until 6:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road.  Private burial will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, on Wednesday, February 17th.

My family picked Draeger , for our Dad, because they did such a wonderful job for my sister and brother in law. I don’t even have the right language skills to tell you how wonderful and compassionate Gary was to our family! He thought of every detail and made it so affordable but yet OUTSTANDING quality! I just can’t say enough about the whole entire process! Thank you Gary! Warren Williams officiated the service and he couldn’t of done a better , more sincere job! Thank you again, Gary! You are superb!
