Sturtevant – Yvonne Chambers Jennings, 55, passed away at All Saints hospital on Friday, January 9, 2009. She was born in New Albany, Mississippi on March 16, 1953, the daughter of the late Nathaniel “Buddy” and Henrietta (nee: Alexander) Chambers. She was a Racine resident for most of her life. Yvonne enjoyed meeting new people, traveling and weekend trips, and shopping. She had a funny sense of humor that will be missed. She is survived by her loving husband, Warren Jennings; her devoted children, Warren L. Jennings, Dewita Chambers, Steven Jennings, and Erica Davis all of Racine; 5 grandchildren, Kezahrian, Christopher, Corvantae, Charisma, and Joseph; her dear sisters and brothers, Sakinah (Syid) Abdullah, Rajeeyah (Andre) McWhorter both of Racine, Belinda Lambouth, Darlene Chambers both of Milwaukee, Gwen (Robert) Armstrong of New Albany, Mississippi; Dante Chambers of Los Angeles, California, and Hannibal (Dorothy) Chambers of Milwaukee; her special nieces, Tameka Abdullah and Haleemah Abdullah; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Marshallean Connors and Sheila Stewart both of Racine. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Sherman Chambers. Homegoing services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009 with Minister James Oates officiating. Committal services will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation and viewing will begin at 11 a.m. Special thanks to all of the staff at All Saints hospital, especially those in 2D and the ICU, for their compassion and caring manner displayed toward Yvonne.

Testimonials

Joan St. Martin

We would like to personally thank Brian for what a warm, compassionate funeral you arranged. You always put our thoughts first and answered and responded to my many phone calls about everything. The artistry of the belongings of our son was amazing. Everything was so beautiful. So many people complimented on how the arrangement was set up by you. We as a family will never forget what you did for us in our time of need. Thank you very much Brian.
