Lorraine C. Koenig

May 24, 1918 – Dec 5, 2005

Mrs. Lorraine C. Koenig, 87, was united with the Lord after a long and courageous battle with cancer at St. Mary’s Medical Center on Monday, December 5, 2005. She was born in Mosinee on May 24, 1918, the daughter of the late Michael and Matilda (nee: Ahles) Fochs. On September 15, 1936, here in Racine, she was united in marriage to Walter Koenig, who preceded her in death on January 18, 1967. She had been employed by R.L. Polk for many years. She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Mrs. Koenig loved playing cards, crocheting, and doing crossword puzzles. Surviving are her daughter, Deborah (Robert) Siefert of Racine; grandchildren, Daniel (Angela) Bernhardt of Janesville, Brian (Beth) Bernhardt of Emerald Isle, N.C., Adam Siefert, and Steven Siefert, both of Racine; her great-granddaughter, Ava Kathryne Bernhardt of Janesville; and her brothers, Carroll Ahles and Francis Ahles, both of Racine. She is further survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers, Elmer, Edward, Gilbert, Melvin, Alvis, Harold, James, and Vernon Ahles; and by one sister, Marie Kirschling. Her Funeral Mass will be held in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, on Saturday, December 10, 2005, at 10 a.m. Private entombment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. and in the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The family has suggested memorials to the Southeastern Cancer Center at All Saints Medical Center. The family would like to thank the staffs of St. Mary’s Medical Center and Ridgewood Health Care Center.

    Dear Deb & Family

I just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you at this time.

Your Mom (my Great Aunt) was a very special person. I always enjoyed her company. She will be greatly missed by all of us.

    Take Care
Diane (Lyle & Rose Ahles’ daughter)
