Mrs. Josephine Frankenberger, 82, died at Kenosha Memorial Hospital (United Hospital System) on Wednesday, May 3, 2006. She was born in Racine on July 30, 1923 to the late James and Bridget (nee: Catanese) Capasso. She attended Holy Name School and Washington Park High School. On June 21, 1947, she married Cletus Frankenberger in Holy Name Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1995. Josephine worked for numerous places including Webster Electric, Oster Manufacturing and Johnson Furniture. However, her most important job was caring for her family. Josephine was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and the Sodality Society where she also volunteered many hours as a laundress for the priests. Her survivors include her children, Jean (special friend, Terry Otwaska) Mandernack, Jerry (Maddy) Frankenberger, Joan Frankenberger; grandchildren, Tammy and Tom Knaus, Sheila (Sam) Fiore, Jamie Frankenberger, Jordan Frankenberger, Jason Vollendorf, Joshua Vollendorf; great grandchildren, Taylor and Ava Knaus, Misty, Amanda, Hannah, Abigail and Natalie Vollendorf; sister, Mary (Ed) Pease all of Racine; brothers-in-law, Paul Chilson of DeMotte, IN, Richard Lardinois of Pewaukee; sister-in-law, Adeline Storck of Racine and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, her sisters and brothers, Nancy Peterson, Antoinette De Marco, Phyllis Herrera, Rose Chilson, Dominic Capasso and John Capasso all preceded her in death. Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church on Monday, May 8, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. for the celebration of her funeral Mass with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. There will be a visitation in the church on Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. Private entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers, Josephine’s family has suggested memorials to Southern Wisconsin Center or Special Olympics. A very heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Beverly Health Care for the loving care Josephine has received during her stay.
