Leonard Curry

Nov 8, 1928 – Jan 9, 2008

Racine – Leonard Curry, 79, passed away at All Saints Hospital on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. He was born in Alamo, Tennessee on November 8, 1928, son of the late Tom and Mamie (nee: Moore) Curry. In 1948 at the 2nd Baptist Church in Alamo, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Dawson Leonard came to Racine in the early 60’s, and he began working at JI Case, Co. He was very good with his hands, and enjoyed helping others, working on cars, and recycling. Most of all he enjoyed being in the company of his family and good friends. He is survived by his son, Leonard T. Curry (fiancé April Mitchell); granddaughter, Nicole (Danny) Overstreet; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Miller, Danny Overstreet, and Elizabeth Overstreet; step-grandchildren, Kei’Anthony and Kei’Andre Mitchell; one brother and one sister; as well as many close friends. In 1991 he was preceded in death by his dear wife, Elizabeth. Homegoing services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 with Rev. Jesse Summerall officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 noon. Mr. Curry will be returned to his home in Tennessee for burial.
