Rose C. Olson

May 3, 1914 – May 16, 2008

RACINE- Rose C. Olson, 94, passed away peacefully at the Willowgreen Assisted Living Center on Friday, May 16, 2008. Rose was born in Butler, PA on May 3, 1914 to the late James and Catherine (nee: Andrachi) Commodore. She was a 1933 graduate of Washington Park High School. On October 26, 1940 in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Jack C. Olson, who preceded her in death on November 7, 1995. A loving and devoted homemaker, Rose was a longtime member of the Fifth Street Yacht Club. An accomplished pianist and phenomenal musician to say the least, she could play well over 200 songs – all by ear. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Joan Olson of Franksville; grandchildren, Jessica (Rob) McLaughlin, Laura Olson and Marci Olson; great-granddaughter, Molly McLaughlin; many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Frank, Patrick and Ernie Commodore; and sisters, Mary Zamagne, Victoria Bush and Helen Mano. In accordance with Rose’s wishes, private family funeral services took place on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Interment followed in West Lawn Memorial Park. In memory of Rose, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association has been suggested. A heartfelt note of thanks to the wonderful staff of Willowgreen Assisted Living and Aspera Hospice for the compassionate care and support that was so warmly extended during Mom’s time of need.
