LeRoy Bradley Fitzgerald

Racine – Leroy Bradley Fitzgerald, 74, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 9, 2012, with his beloved wife, Angie, at his side.  He was born in Mondovi on August 2, 1937, son of the late Clarence and Anna (nee: Larson) Fitzgerald.

LeRoy faithfully served his country in the United States Army after graduating from high school.  He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Angelita Romero, on July 17, 1965, at St. Bethania Lutheran Church in Racine.  LeRoy worked for Chrysler as a fork lift operator until he retired in 1984.  He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  One of LeRoy’s greatest talents was playing the guitar and singing.  His favorite genres were country, bluegrass, and gospel.  LeRoy will be dearly missed by his entire family.

LeRoy leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of over 46 years, Angie Fitzgerald; sisters, Catherine Tully and family, Cynthia Horgen and family; cousins, Merle Fitzgerald and family, Kay Bursaw and family; nieces, Karla (Pat) Knutson and family, Kim Dregney and family, Sharon (Pete) Ernst and family; nephews, Rodney Schultz and family, Doug Rustad and family, Scott Horgen, Steve Tully; and other relatives too numerous to mention.  In addition to his parents, LeRoy is preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Schultz, Barbara Marie “Mary” Rustad; aunts, Evelyn Linderman, Mary Jane (Richard) Hanson; uncles, Richard (Leona) Fitzgerald, Archie Fitzgerald; cousins, William Fitzgerald, and Jerry Bursaw.

A memorial service for LeRoy with full military honors will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, 6pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Road, with Chaplain Terry Peterson officiating.  Visitation will be from 4pm until the time of the service.  The family has suggested memorials to Hospice Alliance.

The family would like to thank Dr. Abhay Jella and staff at Aurora – St. Luke’s Medical Center, the staff of Hospice Alliance, and especially his nurse, Shannon, for the love and care that they gave to LeRoy during his time of illness.
