Todd Wayne Meistad

vet
Jun 19, 1963 – Sep 3, 2012

Adams/Friendship (formerly of Racine) – Todd W. Meistad, 49, passed away at the William S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital in Madison on Monday, September 3, 2012 following a six-year battle with cancer.

Todd was born in Racine on June 19, 1963 to Leonard and Geraldine (nee: Kent) Meistad. After attending the schools of Washington Park and Walden, he went on to proudly serve our Country with the United States Marine Corps for four years.

Todd was employed as a moving specialist with Graebel Relocation Services in Georgia.  Todd was an extreme sports enthusiast; diehard Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan; and enjoyed challenging others to a good game of horseshoes or darts. Above all, he loved and cherished being in the surroundings of his entire family.

Surviving are his daughters, Jari Meistad and Janah Meistad; his adored mother, Geraldine “Gerri” Meistad; sisters, Vicki (Jeff) Beres, Laurie (George) Schumacher and Brenda (Jim) Winchester; former wife and mother of his daughters, Kim Meistad; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Meistad, on January 30, 2010.

Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 9-11 am.

Barb and I would like to thank Gary and the entire staff for how wonderfully they handled the arrangements for our daughter Katie.

Gary took care of all the details and his suggestions and advice and the responsiveness of the entire staff were outstanding. We received a number of compliments from those attending the service.

We also appreciated Gary and the staff’s support and empathy to our family and guests.
