
Racine – Maryjane (nee: Kunce) Zaehler, 67, affectionately known to many as “Nickel Mary” passed away peacefully at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL on Sunday, September 16, 2012.
Mary was born in Eau Claire, WI on June 30, 1945 to Ted Kunce and Geneva (nee: Rockafello) Bishop. The English major that she was, Mary enjoyed sharing her knowledge with the children at Hansche School.
She was an extremely talented and published Poet; had a county fair award-winning Peanut Butter Cookie recipe; spent many hours of the day on her computer surfing the world wide web and communicating with family / friends; could shop until she dropped; enjoyed traveling; was always up for a good game of Poker; and absolutely loved playing with & teaching her grandchildren.
Surviving are her sons, Charles “Tom”, James and Richard Weyrough; grandchildren, John Kelly; Adam, Noah, Colin and Amy Weyrough; sisters, Lila (Joe) Kuta, Pat (Dell) Harden and Kathy Froode; brother, Mike Bishop; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In accordance with Mary’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 6:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 5-6 pm. Private interment will be held in Graceland Cemetery. In memory of Mary, offer a kind deed to someone in need.
