Steven Scott O'Keefe

vet
Jun 13, 1971 – Nov 12, 2013

KANSASVILLE (TOWN OF DOVER) – Steven S. O’Keefe, 42, passed away at Froedtert Memorial Hospital on November 12, 2013 after a courageous nine month battle with leukemia.

He was born in Milwaukee on June 13, 1971, the son of Myron and Cleta (nee: Eder) O’Keefe.  He graduated from Grafton High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Steve resided in the Racine area for the past 18 years.   On August 7, 2004, he married the love of his life, Gianna Pipino in Racine.

Steve spent the past 15 years working as an environmental technician at S. C. Johnson until his illness prevented him from continuing.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, motorcycles, hunting and archery.   Although he loved the outdoors, his true passion was for his family.  Steve was a proud father and loving husband that lived for his daughter and son. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.

In addition to wife, Gianna, he is survived by his adored children, Gabby (6) and Jackson (2); his parents, Myron and Cleta O’Keefe of Grafton; his brother, Brian (Christine) O’Keefe of Hubertus, WI; his father-in-law, Jerry Pipino; sister-in-law, Christine (Sean) Lally both of Fond du Lac; his nieces and nephew, Jennifer and Morgan O’Keefe and Sarah and Ben Lally; as well as the four remaining dearest friends of the Fab Five.   Steve was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Carol Pipino.

Family and friends are invited to meet at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. for a celebration of Steve’s life.  There will be time to meet and visit with his family from noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.  Everyone is invited to attend and encouraged to share a memory or story of Steve during the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to a scholarship fund for his children, which will be established at Johnson Bank at a later time, or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Steve’s family sincerely thanks the entire team at Froedtert Memorial Hospital for the top quality, professional and loving attention they all received while under their care.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

After the passing of our loved one, the time came to make the arrangements for his funeral and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more kind and caring as Mark was. He picked up on all the little details and things we held close to our hearts and made the celebration of this wonderful man’s life very special. Even playing taps along with the honor guard, Mark we can’t thank you enough…our heartfelt thanks go out to you and the staff.
Sincerely, THE GENE GRABHER FAMILY

Linda
