Gordon H. Weiss

vet
Mar 31, 1922 – May 20, 2014

~~     Gordon H. Weiss, 92, passed away in Wheaton Franciscan Hospital-All Saints, on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. He was born in Chicago, IL on March 31, 1922.
Gordon served his country with the U.S. Army in the Pacific during WWII and U.S. Army Air Corps, then later the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  On October 30, 1954 he was united in marriage to the former Theresa Pegarsch. He had been employed as a farmhand in his younger years, and later by Western Electric as a payroll supervisor.  He and Theresa relocated to Florida where they ran a motor lodge and Gordon sold real estate. He served the community as Sergeant-at-Arms and President of the local Rotary Club and was a member of the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Gordon was fortunate enough to go to Washington DC on the Honor Flight with fellow WWII veterans to tour the Nation’s Capital.  He was a die-hard Cubs fan and was an avid supporter when his grandsons played the game.
Surviving are his wife, Theresa, their children, Sandra (Michael) Baker, of Algonquin, IL, and Kenneth (Sherry) Weiss, of Mustang, OK, 2 grandsons, Christopher and Bryan Baker.
A memorial service, with full military honors, was held in the chapel at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, May 27th.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for making our father\’s funeral a beautiful celebration of his life. So many people commented that it was the best funeral they had ever attended! We can\’t say enough about Mark Langendorf\’s professionalism, his attention to detail, and ensuring that my father\’s funeral went smoothly from start to finish. After the funeral, he was always available for any questions and concerns my mother had. He handled all post-funeral details. Our dad would be very happy to know it went so well.Thank you so much, Mark.
