Richard L. Plucker

Racine – Richard L. Plucker, 73, passed away unexpectedly at All Saints Hospital on Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born in Burlington on July 16, 1941, son of the late Lawrence and Grace (nee: Benning) Plucker. Richard was raised in the Waterford/Wind Lake area of Racine County, and was a graduate of Pulaski High School. He was married on September 9, 1961 in Waterford’s St. Peter’s Lutheran Church to Margaret Jean Gillen. Richard served with pride in the US Air Force from 1961 – 1968.

Richard held several positions in the factory during his 28 year career with the JI Case Company. He was a highly regarded member of VFW Post 8343; and was currently serving as president of the VVA Chapter 921. He was a member of UAW local 180 and UAW Region 4 Veterans. He served as past Wisconsin UAW Vets State Chair and he was currently chairman of the UAW Vets Day. In his free time he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and had a passion for playing cribbage and sheepshead with friends, spending time playing Santa and enjoyed being with his family.

Richard is survived by his wife, Margaret (Gillen) Plucker, currently of Racine; their children, Tammie Matti of Waukesha, Sherri (Thomas) Fincutter of Burlington, and Keith (Monica) Plucker of Silver Lake; grandchildren, Monique “Nikki” (Lee) Klinger, Andrew Fincutter (Jackie Goller), Brian (Catie) Fincutter, and Amanda (Matthew) Jones. His great-grandchildren, Troy and Alexander Klinger, and Dante and Avery Jones. His sisters, Nancy (Lyle) Schwartz of Muskego, and Karen (Allen) Einer of Mukwonogo; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Shirley.

Complete services will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, January 25, 2015. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 pm-3:45 pm; with a service to follow at 4:00 pm. Internment and military honors will be rendered at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Wednesday January 28, 2015.

    My heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Dick was my friend for 25 years, and was Santa at Docs Vets Christmas show for 20 years. Will miss you brother, but never forget. You and I did a whole lot of Vets stuff together.
