Cecil Reed Duckworth, Sr.

Racine – Cecil Reed Duckworth, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home after a long illness.  He was born in Racine on June 14, 1935, son of the late Cecil R. and Jeannette (nee: Booth) Duckworth, Sr.  Cecil was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former MaryLana Antoweski, on June 28, 1958, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Port Austin, MI.

Cecil proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. He was employed by Howard Industries until its closure.   Cecil then worked for Twin Disc and retired after 25 years of service.

Cecil leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, MaryLana; daughter, Debra A. (Robert) Wentzel; son, Steven R. (Kelly) Duckworth; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Shirley) Duckworth; brother-in-law, Henry Antoszewski; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.  In addition to his parents, Cecil is preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Thorsen and Shirley Coronado.

The family will hold private funeral services with full military honors.  Interment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  The family has suggested memorials to Hospice Alliance.

The family would like to thank friends, Audrey, Barb, Guy; Hospice Alliance staff – Tammy, Sham, Nurse Debbie, CNA Katelin, Chaplain Dean, and Joan for all of their help and support – Thanks and Hugs.

Thank you so very much for the exemplary care that you provided for both our mom and dad. Your family is extremely kind and exudes much empathy towards others. You and your staff display much professionalism with great talent and attention to detail. Mom and dad were always very particular in their appearance. Mom would say, You are leaving a lasting impression of yourself with someone to remember you by. Your parents taught you boys well; be very proud of that! Love on them, as death is so very permanent.

Holly and I are officially orphans now. It is people like your family and David Huck being there for us, that bring comfort when you are going through one of the most difficult challenges life throws at you.

I thank God every day for our Ostergaard family and will always cherish the memories.
