James Yoghourtjian

     James Yoghourtjian, 91, passed away peacefully in the Elizabeth Residence on Sunday, April 26, 2015. He was born in Racine on October 3, 1923 the son of the late Peter and Tamam (nee: Mahdasian) Yoghourtjian.
    Mr. Yoghourtjian was united in marriage to the former Margaret Kaiserlian. He served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII, serving under General George Patton. Mr. Yoghourtjian was an accomplished musician, playing several instruments but was noted for his classical guitar. He taught music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
     Surviving are his wife, Margaret; nieces and nephews, Peter (Pat) Yoghourtjian, of Racine, Anita (Terry) Jones, of Chandler, AZ, Jim ( Kimberly) Yoghourtjian, of Racine, Tami Yoghourtjian, of Cudahy, Christian (Camille) Kaiserlian, of NY City, and Pamela Kaiserlian, of Milwaukee; great-niece and nephews, Patrick (Cecili Franco) Yoghourtjian, Nicole (Eric) Fanning, and Harlan Kaiserlian; great- great- niece, Paige Yoghourtjian; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arthur and Penelope Kaiserlian, of Charlottesville, VA.. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers Sam and Jack, and his baby sister .
    In keeping with his wish a private service was held in the chapel of Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
