Robert W. Schveidler

~~     Robert W. Schveidler, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 7, 2015.  He was born in Racine on July 3, 1936, the son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (nee: Stapelman) Schveidler,
     Bob was a 1954 graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He also served in the Army Reserve and retired with the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #281 for 58 years. He served the Eagles as State President from 1999-2000, and Regional President from 2005-2006. He had been employed by Twin Disc Inc. from 1961 until he retired in 1996. He was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and the Twin Disc 20 Year Club.
     Surviving are his sisters, Rosemary Pruim, of Arroyo Grande, CA, and Kathy (Tom Obry) Wells, of Racine; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Gene) Siegel, Gary Schoettler, Diane (Ken) Peterson, Jeffrey Schoettler, Dale Schoettler, Sandy (David) Martins, Sue (Daniel) Martins, all in CA, and Shawn (Carmen Tenuta) Ortiz, of Racine; great niece, Gabbi; great nephew, Taylor; and numerous great nieces and great nephews in California.  Bob is also survived by other relatives and a host of friends and fellow Eagles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Lorie Ortiz, and nephew, David Schoettler.
     His Mass of Christian Burial, with full military honors, will be celebrated in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., on Saturday, July 18th, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and in the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The Fraternal Order of Eagles will hold their memorial Friday at the conclusion of the visitation on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. A private burial service will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday, July 20th. The family has suggested memorials be made to Eagle Village Community, 4710-14th St. W. Bradenton, FL 34207.
