Leo A. Prevost

Apache Junction, AZ – Leo A. Prevost, 92, of Apache Junction, AZ and formerly of Racine, WI; received the promise of eternal life on Friday, October 9th, 2015. He was born in Escanaba, MI on March 1, 1923; son of the late Leo Prevost and Josephine (nee: Gardner);  was married to the love of his life, Kathleen Marie Boehme, on November 14, 1947, in Racine, WI and then to his current love, Betty Boehme, married October 19th, 2001 in Racine.  Leo proudly and faithfully served his country during the WWII and Korean War as a Machinist Mate 2 in the United States Navy. He entered the Navy in 1941 and was discharged on September, 17, 1952.  Leo worked for 35 years at J. I. Case Company and had many positions; he retired April, 1, 1982 as a superintendent of maintenance. Leo was a member of the VFW, Knights of Columbus and the Elks.  Leo was also involved as a volunteer for Boy Scouts and “Our Harmony Respite Club”.  Leo especially loved spending time with his family and spoiling his and Betty’s grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.  Leo leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 14 years, Betty Boehme (nee: Anderson) of Apache Junction and Racine; daughter, Lynn Shippley of Hollister, CA; daughter,  Nancy Loken (Erik) of Racine; son, Richard Prevost (Mary) of Tempe; son, Christopher Prevost of Racine; Betty’s 10 children, Mary Hanson (Bill), Randy Boehme (Paula), Laurie Boehme (Mark Muzi), John Boehme (Sharon), Tom Boehme (Amanda Clark),  Julie Boehme (Marshall Robertson), Jim Boehme,  Barbara Boehme-DeChant (Brian),  Jerry Boehme (Danelle), and Karen Boehme (Don Beaver); 9  grandchildren, Jon Prevost (Sharon), Crystal Carley (Allen),  Stacy Rosen (Nate ), Sean Prevost, Tim Loken (Jessica), Kelsey Loken, Leo Shippley,  Jacalyn Loken, Jordan Loken; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mia, Logan, Dylan,  Kasen, Conner and Ethan;  sister, Elaine Mericer (Alan) of MI; sister-in-law,  Nancy Albright Fliess; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention by name.  Leo is preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen on August 16th, 1995; son, Michael on September 27th 2014; brothers, Francis, Gilbert, and Daniel; sister, Lorraine.
Service will be at St. George Roman Catholic Parish on October 16th, 2015 in Apache Junction, AZ.  A private memorial service interment at Veterans Memorial Cemetery will take place on October 19th, 2015.  The family has suggested memorials to Knights of Columbus or “Our Harmony Respite Club”.

A local memorial service for Leo will be held in Racine, WI at a later date. Please watch for an upcoming edition of the Journal Times in the near future or revisit the funeral home website for another obituary which will announce the confirmed Racine memorial service date and time.

It was truly a blessing to have everything written out so well and simplified with various price range options in a time that we needed crystal clear direction. Its been beautiful to see that their care and service didn’t stop after our mom’s service came to an end. They continue to be in communication with immediate responses as questions arise along the way. God bless Mark, and the entire compassionate team, to be around to guide many many more for generations to come through life’s most difficult times. You are all truly amazing.
