Terrance "Terry" Harbin

Racine – Terrance L. “Terry” Harbin, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 18, 2016.

Terry was born in Cavabis, North Dakota on December 22, 1935 to the late Charles and Bertha (nee: Anderson) Harbin. He faithfully served our country with the United States Navy as a machinist mate 2nd class. On August 15, 1957 (while serving in military in Richmond, VA) he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Marsha Mary (nee: Towles).

Terry was employed by SC Johnson & Son as a chief line operator at the Waxdale plant for over 33 years, retiring in 1986. He was a devoted member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Among his interests, Terry was an expert marksman who enjoyed target shooting. He also enjoyed camping, hiking, traveling and square dancing with Marsha. Above all, he was extremely dedicated to his family and loved spending time with all of his loved ones.

Surviving are his loving wife of over 58 years, Marsha; their children, Loni Bethea (Willie Wesley), Leann (Mike) Greenquist, Edwin Harbin (fiancé, Angela Lunetta) and Denice (Rick) Legois; grandchildren, Chantil, Orland and Michael Mott; Katrina, Max and Felisha Greenquist; great-grandchildren, Quentin, Jon, Dakota, Dawson, Samantha, Nixon and Charlotte; brothers, Dennis (Sherlyn) Harbin and David (Bonnie) Harbin; step-grandchildren, Tara (David) Batesole and Raymond (Stacy) Hummel; step-great-grandchildren, Landen, Nolan, Noah and Annabella; sisters-in-law, Patricia Harbin, Barbara (Clay) Citrano and Patricia (Robert) Sanderson; brother-in-law, Roger Towles; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his dad, Charles (Lillian) Harbin; mother, Bertha (Newell) Pate; infant daughter, Mary Harbin; granddaughter, Lynzay Legois; brother, Keith Harbin; sister-in-law, Peggy Towles; and by Marsha’s parents, Quentin and Mary Towles.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Saint Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Military honors will follow. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, Hwy 32.  Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Lucy Food Pantry have has been suggested.

Special note of thanks to Gentiva Hospice and all the medical staff for the compassionate care & support given in Terry’s time of need; to Angela Lunetta for all your special care and working so hard for Dad & Mom; and to all of our family and friends for the many prayers and acts of kindness offered.     My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you remember and celebrate Terry’s life! Growing up on Shoop Street, I never knew if he was serious or joking! He was always a little feisty and very strict. I think Loni was grounded about every other week!! I can’t be there with you, but I’m with you in spirit!
