Clarence Denzin

vet
Feb 8, 1925 – Apr 22, 2016

Racine –Clarence F. Denzin, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 22, 2016.

Clarence was born in Milan, Wisconsin on February 8, 1925 to the late Paul and Theresa (nee: Vierks) Denzin. He faithfully served our country with the United States Army from 1943-46. On November 18, 1949 in Raymond Congregational Church, he was united in marriage with Betty (nee: Rieckhoff).

With a profound work ethic, Clarence was employed as a machinist by Walker Manufacturing for over 45 years. He was an avid gardener – having built his own greenhouse to raise all of his plants from seeds. He was also a talented woodworker; could repair just about anything; and, as an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Clarence had a great sense of humor and always looked forward to playing “Santa Claus” for his family.

Surviving are his loving wife of over 66 years, Betty; special niece & nephew, Lynn & Michael Fettes; great-nieces and nephew, Angie (Jeremy) Sivis, Amy (Titus) Seilheimer and Aaron (Andy Wilken) Fettes; great-great-nephews, Tor and Leif Seilheimer; other relatives and friends. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers & sisters.

Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Interment, with military honors, will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon. Memorials can be made to one’s favorite charity.

A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Howard Short and to Compassionate Care Hospice for the compassionate care and support given in Clarence’s time of need.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Many thanks to Bob and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf. This has been the hardest of times in my families lives and you were very attentive and helpful with all that needed to be done. The tribute that you created for my mother was beautiful and I shall not forget it. God bless all of you.
