Frank Paul Jarosz, Sr.

Mar 16, 1929 – Jul 29, 2009

Racine- Frank Paul Jarosz Sr., 80, passed away St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Frank was born in Crivitz, WI on March 16, 1929 to the late John Paul and Agnes (nee: Boivin) Jarosz. He graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1949. On April 21, 1951 in Holy Name Catholic Church, Frank was united in marriage with the love of his life, Nancy Ricchio. He faithfully served our Nation with the United States Army from 1951-53. In 1953 Frank began his career as a plumber. As a Master Plumber he owned and operated Elmwood Plumbing & Excavating and Jarosz Plumbing, retiring in 2004. For more than 50 years he was a member of Plumber and Steamfitters Union Local 118, serving as secretary for many years. He was an active member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and Scout Master of St. Lucy Boy Scout Troop 228 for 12 years. Frank was proudly involved with the Racine Boy Scout Drum & Bugle Corp, Racine Explorer Scout Drum & Bugle Corp and the Kilties. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, deer hunting and wood working. His favorite place to vacation was Hawaii. Above all else, Frank loved and cherished being in the midst of his entire family. Surviving are his loving wife of over 58 years, Nancy (nee: Ricchio); sons, Frank (Vicki) Jarosz Jr. of Racine; Thomas (Jean) Jarosz of Wauwatosa; David (Jane) Jarosz and Gregory (Karen) Jarosz, both of Kansasville; daughter, Mariclare (James) Thomason of Schaumburg, IL; grandchildren, Matthew Jarosz and Rachel (Tighe) Ittner; Ellen, Claire, Angela, Margaret and Samuel Jarosz; Dana (Kevin) Bower, David R. and Gregory F. Jarosz; Amber, Nicholas, Zachary and Benjamin Jarosz; and Emily Thomason; great-grandchildren, Ian and Katie Ittner; Bryn and Masen Bower; brothers, Edward (Anne) and James (Judy) Jarosz; sisters, Sr. Paula Marie Jarosz, Marion Jansen, Evelyn Babak and Dorothy (Wayne) Kilsdonk; mother-in-law, Claire Ricchio; brother-in-law, Elmer C. (Shirley) Ricchio; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, customers and friends, too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Jarosz; father-in-law, Elmer F. Ricchio and brother-in-law, Cliff Jansen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment, with military honors, will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery – Highway 32. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 pm and in the church on Wednesday from 10-11 am. In memory of Frank, memorials to Boy Scouts of America (SE Wisconsin Council), St. Catherine’s High School or St. Lucy Church have been suggested. A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. James Mazzulla and Dr. Leon Rosen. Our very special gratitude to Frank’s brother, James Jarosz, for his loving support and immeasurable assistance; and to all our family and friends for their tremendous amount of support during the past several months.
