Racine– Irene (nee: Bialecki) Rygasewicz, 84, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, August 2, 2009. A lifetime resident, Irene was born in Racine on December 18, 1924 to the late Stanley and Veronica (nee: Wielgat) Bialecki. She graduated from St. Stansilaus Grade School in 1939 and Washington Park High School in 1941. On September 14, 1946 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Richard F. Rygasewicz, who preceded her in death on April 29, 2001. During her career, Irene was employed as an office associate for Webster Electric, Jacobsen-Textron, JI Case Corp., and A&E Mfg. However, her main priority in life was being a devoted wife and mother, a vocation she completely excelled at. Irene was a lifetime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church until its closure in 1997. In recent years, she attended St. Lucy Catholic Church. Surviving are her sons, James Ashley of Racine and Thomas Ashley of Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by her brothers, Dominic (Lorraine) and Stanley (Charlotte) Bialecki; Richard’s parents, Frank and Adela (nee: Rylski) Rygasewicz; brothers-in-law, Chester (Ann), Edwin (Florence), and Arthur (Marie) Rygasewicz; and sister-in-law, Irene Sarto. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10-11 am. A special note of thanks to the doctors, nurses and entire staff of Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center, Home Health and Hospice for the incredible care and support that was so kindly extended in our Mother’s time of need.

I am sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of playing at your house as a young kid.
