John Rotkis

Jun 16, 1943 – Aug 30, 2009

John “Rocky” Rotkis, 66, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, August 30, 2009. He was born in Racine on June 16, 1943 the son of the late Mike and Agnes (Ceader) Rotkis. John graduated from Holy Name Grade School and St. Catherine’s High School. He had been employed by the J.I. Case Co. for over 30 years. John was a member of the J.I. Case Co. 20 Year Club and a longtime member of the 5th Street Yacht Club. After his retirement he worked at Hougard’a Auto Parts and Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts. Rocky was an avid fisherman, spending many weekends at his trailer in Mauston with his brother Matt and good friend Rick. He also loved vintage cars and was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. Above All, he was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and an awesome uncle. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his son Paul (Diana) Rotkis; grandson Brandon; sister Monica Ply; brother Matt (Joan) Rotkis, sister Kay Cottone; brother-in-law John Seebeck; nephews, John Seebeck Jr. and Matt Rotkis Jr.; nieces, Cindy (Mike) Cooper, Debbie Phelps, Vicki Cottone-Schultz, Theresa Meyers, and Libby Rotkis.; great-nieces, Sidni Schultz and Megan Tidwell; great-nephews, Antwane Miller. Rocky is further survived by other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his oldest sister Rose Marie in 2008. His memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, September 5th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Relatives and friends can meet with the family in the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until the time of the service.
