Emma Meyer

Dec 7, 1908 – Dec 21, 2009

Racine – Emma (nee: Bonini) Meyer, 101, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Monday, December 21, 2009. Emma was born in Mindenmines, MO on December 7, 1908 to the late John and Maria (nee: Albertini) Bonini. On September 1, 1934 in Holy Name Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with Joseph Meyer, who preceded her in death on October 23, 1977. With a profound Catholic faith, Emma was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and Holy Name Christian Mothers, who faithfully offered the Rosary and recited her prayers every single day. She enjoyed crocheting, sharing time together with friends at “Club”, and was a fantastic cook. Above all, she loved nothing more than being in the midst of her entire family. Surviving are her daughters, Dolores Woods, Joan (Vince) Doyle and Liz (Bob) DeWitt; grandchildren, Thomas (Sue) Woods, Patti (Jimmy) Cruz, Lynn (Chuck) Schweikl, Anne (Matt) Sadowski, Joseph (Lori) Doyle, Brian (Dawn) Emmrich and Jaime (Brad) Treichel; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other dear relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to her parents and husband, Emma was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Martinelli; and brothers, James, Enrico, Adolph, Henry, Albert and John Bonini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 12:00 noon in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10 am until 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested Mass intentions for Emma or memorials to St. Lucy Church and St. Catherine’s High School. A special note of thanks to the entire staff at All Saints 2D for the compassionate care during the past few weeks; and our sincere gratitude to Wheaton Franciscan Home Health & Hospice and to our dedicated family members and friends for all the care and support given over the years – which allowed our Mother to remain in her own home. May God bless all of you!

Testimonials

The Brehm and Kapellusch Families

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for making our father’s funeral a beautiful celebration of his life. So many people commented that it was the best funeral they had ever attended! We can’t say enough about Mark Langendorf’s professionalism, his attention to detail, and ensuring that my father’s funeral went smoothly from start to finish. After the funeral, he was always available for any questions and concerns my mother had. He handled all post-funeral details. Our dad would be very happy to know it went so well.Thank you so much, Mark.
