
Racine Dana J. Bennett, 53, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 27, 2009. He was born in Perry, MI on Sept. 26, 1956 the son of Royal and Beverly (nee: Heath) Bennett. On July 11, 1998, here in Racine he was united in marriage to the former Dolores Charo. He had been employed by W.S.I. until his health began to fail. He was and archer, enjoying shooting tournament archery at Lori G’s, and was a lifelong NFL Colts fan. Surviving are his devoted wife Dolores; sons, Geeon (Kelli) Leo, A.J. Leo; grandsons, Geeon and Gavin Leo, all of Racine; parents, Royal and Beverly Bennett, of Neillsville, WI; brothers, David (Jackie) Bennett of Racine, and Daniel (Cindy) Bennett of Unity, WI; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jose “Joe” and Alicia Charo Sr.; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jose “Joe” (Celia Schultz) Charo Jr. and Yvonne (Rick) Castillo, all or Racine; special nieces, Valerie “Ladybug” and Emily “Bumblebee” Castillo; special cousins Johnny Saldivar and Cindy (Curt) Saldivar-Slenker, all in California; and his loving dog Chi-Chi. His nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive him. His funeral service will be held in St. Lucy Church, 3101 Drexel Ave on Tuesday, December 29th at 7:00 p.m. with Leticia and Geffory Crowell officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. in Graceland Cemetery on Wednesday, December 30th. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Mullane, his staff, Hospice Alliance, his nurse, Jackie Grobschmidt, and his nurses aide, Gina McGee for their loving care and support during Dana’s illness.
