
Racine – Lorraine M. Foster, 88, passed away at the Golden Living Center in Kenosha on Saturday, December 26, 2009. She was born in Janesville on September 10, 1921, daughter of the late Merle and Edna (nee: Hardy) Welcher. She had been a Racine resident for most of her life. Lorraine enjoyed a lifetime of service and devotion to God and the Salvation Army. She was an enthusiastic member of the Wednesday Ladies group. She enjoyed crocheting, and knitting afghans; She was thoughtful and loving, and gave many of her handiworks to family, friends, and charity. Lorraine loved being with people, and enjoyed spending time with friends and having dinner out. She will be dearly missed by many She is survived by her children, Bertina (John) Jensen of Sturtevant, Harold Foster of Racine, Eva Hough of Kenosha, James (Christine) Foster of Oak Creek, Thomas (Susan) Foster of Racine, and Darwin (Ellen) Foster of Union Grove; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and many other church family and friends. Memorial services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, with Major Robert Edmonds officiating. Interment will follow ay Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
