Elaine M. Salerno

Jul 14, 1926 – May 10, 2010

Mrs. Elaine M. Salerno, 83. passed away in Wheaton Franciscan Care Center on Monday, May 10, 2010. She was born in Racine on July, 14, 1926 the daughter of the late Robert and Florence (nee: Beutow) Baker. On December 7, 1963, here in Racine, she was united in marriage to John Salerno. Mrs. Salerno had been employed by Apex Machine, A.M.C., Acme Die Casting, and was a waitress at various restaurants here in Racine. Her family was the center of her life. She is survived by her husband, John; her children, Jean Graham, Robert Droysen, and John S. Salerno, all of Racine; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren,; 4 great-great grandchildren her brother, Kenneth Baker, of Kenosha. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 2 brothers Robert and George Baker. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 17th, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Wheaton Franciscan staff, including the Drs., nurses, and hospice workers, as well as the staff of Lakeshore Manor, for their love and compassion shown to Elaine and her family. A special thanks to Angie and Frank Sullivan for all you’ve done.
