
Azalene Marie (nee: Allen) Young, 71, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at her residence with her beloved and loving husband at her side.
She was born to Silas and Dorothy Allen in Chicago, IL on March 6, 1939. Azalene was united in marriage to Donald Young, March 5, 1963. To that union six children were born. She retired from Ruud Lighting in 1998. Azalene was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and served as Secretary of the Senior Usher Board.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving husband of 47 years, Donald Young of Racine; sons and daughters, Tonya, Derrick, Donald M., Michael, and Cynthia; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three great grandsons and a host of church family and friends. Azalene was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Jewel Denise Gates.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (1120 Grand Ave.) on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. for the celebration of her life and Homegoing with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating. There will be a visitation in the church from 10 -11 a.m. Her interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
