Anne Gayhart

Jun 10, 1918 – Jul 27, 2010

Anne Gayhart, 92, passed away at All Saints Hospital on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. She was born in Racine on June 10, 1918, daughter of the late Frank and Julia (nee: Gulyas) Bogyos. She was married on December 15, 1945 in the Milwaukee Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church to Ernest Gayhart. He preceded her in death on 1986. She was a lifetime resident of Racine, and attended Horlick High School.

Anne was very proud of her Hungarian heritage. She was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent for over 20 years at Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church (later called Providence Church), and has been a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church since 1973. While her life’s calling was making a home for her family, she also found fulfillment by working part-time at Goldblatt’s, Lepps, and Doyle’s Pharmacy.  Anne loved to participate in social events and clubs, enjoyed sewing, bowling, playing cards and dancing.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Moore of Racine, and Pamela (Rodney) Shaw of Onalaska; grandchildren, Adam (Kristy) Moore, and Sara Moore both of Racine, and Nathan (Megan) Shaw of Onalaska; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Noah, Alyssa, and Lilly Moore, and Owen Shaw; brother, Frank Boygos of Burlington; sister, Rosemary Trieber of Racine; as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Florence Bogyos and Evelyn Gayhart. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Trieber and Julia Biksey; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010 with Rev. Melanie Hammond Clark officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitations will be in the funeral home Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m., and again on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials to Covenant Presbyterian Church have been suggested.

Special thanks to the amazing Hospitalist staff at All Saints; Wheaton Franciscan Hospice; and the caring folks at home harbor for all you have done for Anne and her family.
