
Racine— Helen L. Langenfeld, 81, passed away at her home on Saturday, November 6, 2010.
She was born on February 17, 1929 in Breslau, Germany, daughter of the late Walter and Johanna Schramm. In 1946, Helen met her future husband, Jerome “Jerry” Langenfeld, while he was stationed in Wiesbaden. They married in Germany on July 17, 1948 and then moved to Racine where she lived the rest of her life. Jerry preceded her in death on March 21, 2010.
Survivors include her five children, Barbara (Richard) Mueller, Patricia Langenfeld, Pamela (William) Galuska, Gregory (Lori) Langenfeld and Katherine (Dan) Novosad; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Eberhard (Maria) Schramm of Germany; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Helen was an avid reader and a lover of history and music, especially opera. She was an exceptional seamstress and enjoyed gardening. Helen and Jerry loved to travel and took many road trips travelling all over the country.
In accordance with Helen’s wishes, the family will be holding a private memorial service.
