Georgia R. Swift

Jun 6, 1941 – Nov 7, 2010

orgia Ruth Swift, 69, was called Home by her Loving Savior, on Sunday, November 7, 2010. She was born in New Albany, MS on June 6, 1941, the daughter of the late George Herman and Elnora (nee: Golden) Hiler.
      On February 20, 1965, here in Racine, she was united in marriage to John E. Swift. Mrs. Swift had been employed by Racine Steel Castings, Western Publishing and Golden Lantern. A spiritual woman with a profound Christian faith, she had faithfully attended the Church of God Revival Center under the leadership of  Pastor Dorothy Jackson. She loved to sing and was a member of the Nightingales and the Starlight Gospel Singers. Mrs. Swift enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and being with her family.
      She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Nona Hiler, Marlene (L.B. Jones) Hiler, Jerome Swift and Tracy Johnson-Swift, all of Racine; 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Rhonda) Hiler, of Maple Lake, MN; 3 sisters, Mary Hiler, Ann Peel, and Lorraine Hiler, all of Racine; adopted sister, Lois (Claude) Thomas, of Nashville, TN, special friends, Tina (Arthur) Riley and Georgia Brown. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Timmie Hiler, great- grandson, Jamieson Hiler; and brother, George Herman, Jr.
        Her Homegoing Service will be held on Friday, November 12th at 11:00 a.m. in Searching Together Baptist Church, 825- 21st. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will be in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
