Dennis J. Meyer

Nov 22, 1952 – Apr 2, 2011

Racine– Dennis J. Meyer, 58, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Saturday, April 2, 2011.  

Dennis was born on November 22, 1952 in Racine, Wisconsin, son of Maria (nee: Butz) Von Schrader and the late Wilfred Meyer. Dennis was a 1970 graduate of J.I. Case High School and attended the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. He struggled with mental illness most of his life, yet he never failed to have good word or a smile for anyone. He will be missed. 

Dennis is survived by his beloved mother, Maria Von Schrader of Racine; brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Paula Meyer of Racine; nephews, Matt (Emily) Meyer of Minneapolis, MN and Brad Meyer of Madison; and by his extended family at Transitional Living Services. 

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.   Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 11 am – 12:00 noon. Private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kismet Klub – Transitional Living Services (3710 Douglas Ave. Racine, WI  53402).  

A special note of thanks to Transitional Living Services for all their compassionate care, understanding and support given to Dennis over the years. May God bless all of you!
