Annabelle M. Huff

Jan 1, 1918 – May 23, 2011

Mrs. Annabelle M. Huff, 93, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Monday, May 23, 2011.

She was born in Milwaukee on January 1, 1918, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (nee: Boissonnault) Groff.  On February 25, 1939, she married Albert C. Huff.  He preceded her in death on May 19, 1990. Mrs. Huff spent most of her life in Milwaukee until moving to Racine in 1983.

Known as the “Cake Lady”, Mrs. Huff made hundreds of wedding and birthday cakes out of her home for many years.  In addition to her love for baking, she also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and her membership at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church.  However, Mrs. Huff was happiest when she was in the presence of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Diann (Charlie) Hostettler of Jacksonville, FL; her son-in-law, Marvin Osenga of Racine; her grandchildren, Denise (Jeff) Byers, Deborah Heaps both of Racine, Brian Hostettler of Chicago, Lori (Sebastian) Stanciu of Jacksonville, FL; her great grandchildren, Heidi Byers, Adam Heaps both of Racine, McKenzie Bassitt; Sofia Stanciu, Olivia Stanciu each of Jacksonville; her sister in law, Betty Bukvich of Milwaukee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   Mrs. Huff was also preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Osenga and her sister, Marie (Harold) Larson.

Family and friends are invited to meet at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church (1700 S. Green Bay Rd. Racine) on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. for the celebration of Annabelle’s life with Rev. David Echelbarger officiating.  There will be a visitation in the church from 5-6 p.m.  Her interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park (14875 W. Greenfield Ave. in New Berlin) on Friday.  Those wishing to attend may meet at the gate of the cemetery at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Ridgewood Care Center.

Mrs. Huff’s family wishes to sincerely thank Ridgewood Care Center for the loving and the professional care she received during her 4 ½ year stay.

Testimonials

From a daughter

My parents told me of your kindness, generosity, and servitude when we lost my brother. They needed that strength and your light came through. Thank you.
